Big Announcement! 🎉 With our new shop open and mobile welding services running strong, we’re proud to announce Fifth Meridian Services Ltd. is now CWB W47.1 Division 2 and W59 certified for structural steel, further reinforcing our dedication to quality.

We’ve been working quietly behind the scenes with our qualified welding supervisor and retained engineering to prepare for this certification. After several audits and extensive documentation, we now have approved SMAW, FCAW, and MCAW procedures, along with a full quality control program, ready to take on your engineered structural steel projects — delivering the quality and service you deserve.

A well-loved trailer in need of some repairs. Fifth Meridian got it back up and running, ready to keep working hard for our client. We installed new fenders and completed a crack repair to make sure the trailer is ready for the job.

A quick repair for a client’s bird statue today. They noticed I was working nearby on another project and stopped by to see if I could fix it up to get it standing again. From small to large jobs, Fifth Meridian is ready for your project. 👍🏼

Cut, drill, repeat. Our client needed replacement keyed shafts, and their supplier quoted $550 each. We sourced quality stock material with the same material specifications as the original quote, cut everything to length, and drilled the required holes to exact measurements—all at a more cost-effective price. Precision was key, as the holes had to align perfectly with new augers to prevent any slack in the driveline and ensure reliable operation.

Smooth sailing ahead for this clients wheelchair accessible boat. Completed this ramp to ensure they’re ready for the upcoming boating season. Had fun TIG welding this up 🙌🏼

A custom aluminum roof extension for a clients boat. Matched the existing design already on the boat. Had to get creative with bending the aluminum ribs, all the metallurgy lessons from trade school started coming into play. 6061-T6 aluminum is heat treated making it strong but brittle, so I heated up the tubes to anneal them taking away some strength but softening the material so it wouldn’t crack when I go to bend it. Bent the tubes with a custom die I made to match the radius of the existing bends. TIG welded things into place and laid the aluminum sheets down with about 400 rivets!
